Building the Humanization Framework: A Step-by-Step Guide for Better Copywriting
How to Make Your Content Feel Real—and Relatable
AI has made content creation faster and easier than ever before. But in the rush to automate, something crucial often gets lost: the human touch.
If your writing feels robotic, flat, or too “perfect,” it’s not going to connect.
In fact, it might be hurting your message more than helping it.
That’s why I developed the Humanization Framework—a simple, step-by-step process to make your content feel relatable, trustworthy, and deeply human at every stage of creation.
Here’s a look at the first three steps to get started:
1. Start with Empathy
Every great piece of content starts with one simple question: What does my audience care about?
📌 Why this matters:
Empathy helps you connect emotionally with your audience. Instead of guessing what they want to hear, you’re showing them you understand their challenges and desires.
What to do:
Write down one specific problem your audience is facing.
Reflect on how that problem makes them feel—frustrated, hopeful, overwhelmed?
Example:
Instead of: “Our software improves productivity.”
Try: “We know how overwhelming it feels to juggle too many tasks at once. That’s why we built a tool to simplify your day.”
2. Simplify for Relatability
Complex sentences and industry jargon make your content harder to read—and harder to trust. Humanized copy is simple, clear, and conversational.
📌 Why this matters:
Relatable language builds a bridge between you and your audience. When your words feel approachable, people are more likely to listen—and act.
What to do:
Replace jargon with plain, descriptive language.
Use short sentences that flow naturally, like spoken conversation.
Example:
AI: “Our platform facilitates seamless cross-functional collaboration.”
Humanized: “Our platform helps your team work better—together.”
3. Add Stories, Not Just Data
Facts inform, but stories inspire. Stories make your content more engaging, memorable, and human.
📌 Why this matters:
Humans process stories 22 times faster than standalone facts. They add emotional weight to your message, making it stick.
What to do:
Share a quick example or scenario that illustrates your point.
Use sensory details to paint a vivid picture.
Example:
Instead of: “This feature reduces downtime.”
Try: “Imagine fixing a critical issue in minutes—not hours—and getting your day back on track.”
